Our Volunteers are not paid money for their time…

But they donate so much more than just “their time”

They donate their compassion, kindness, sensitivity and love.

We value our volunteers because without them we couldn’t do what we do.  We have worked for years to get our volunteers to the level they are, the trust, the knowledge, the skill and the know-how.  We cannot thank them enough.  Today we would like to introduce you to Matthew…

We have had the pleasure of Matthew working alongside us and despite the challenges this job provides, Matthew never complains.  We are grateful for all the wonderful work our Volunteers do, and Matthew is no exception.

Volunteers have to put up with blood, sweat and tears.  This work is heartbreaking at times, sometimes its physically demanding, sometimes you have to lend a shoulder to cry on, and sometimes you just need to be there.  Be present, care, listen and give assurance, they aren’t alone, we do care.

IF YOU WOULD be interested in learning more about becoming one of our valued volunteers, we would love to hear from you.  Simply email us at admin@AussieHelpers.org.au – and put “Volunteer” in the subject line, with your contact details and how you can help, we would be happy to work with you.  CLICK HERE to visit our Volunteers Page on our Website to find out more.

Here is a letter we received just the other day about Matthew, this is one of many:

Hello Brian

Today we received a visit from Matthew of Aussie Helpers. What a great bloke! It was nice to have a chat with someone who has an understanding of what is going on in rural drought stricken areas.

He absolutely blew us away with ‘the gifts’ he left us with. We cannot thank Aussie Helpers and all the donors enough. Every little bit helps and gets us another day closer to rain. What an AMAZING JOB you are doing!

I have attached a photo my son Nathan was telling Matthew about. He suggested we send it on to you to enjoy.  The calves aren’t sure what they are…probably dogs and BJ the dog is convinced he’s a calf! Matthew was having a good laugh at their behaviour!

Thanks Matthew, we value you.
