We recently had the kind support of the Sunrise television show staff and it was a great week where we promoted the Aussie Helpers’ Fundraising.
The Channel 7 Sunrise weather team spent three days with Aussie Helpers visiting farmers in Collinsville and Richmond in North Qld. It proved to be a great opportunity for the rest of Australia to see just how the drought affected farmers and their families first hand.
Here is an open letter Brian wrote to Sunrise to thank them for their kind support:

Dear Edwina, Ben, Mel and Kochie and your amazing teams, Thank you so very much for raising awareness of the work of Aussie Helpers to all Australians. When we started Aussie Helpers back in 2002 we never imagined we’d be where we are today with so much to do, so many farmers and communities to help and with so much support from our fellow Australians. It’s so comforting to know so many Australian’s care so much for our farmers. Your footage brought home to many who have contacted us to say ‘we had no idea it was that bad”. We will be forever grateful to you and our many other corporate sponsors as well as the thousands of Australians who have and continue to support our work.
