PETA CREDLIN:  Brian Egan who several years ago founded the charity Aussie Helpers, as a way to assist Farmers across Australia who have been doing it tough. As much as the country is still fighting drought conditions, and I know you know that all better than anybody, I sat down with Brian to get an update on how his team’s campaign is going, and what more can be done to assist those in need.

BRIAN EGAN: Great to be with you again Peta, and without Sky News I don’t know where we would be because we don’t get a lot of support from the other commercial sort of people. But Aussie Helpers has been in operations since 2002. 17 years ago we started this, and it’s all run by volunteers and we work all over Australia. In the last 6 months I suppose, I’ve been in NSW every day of my life just helping farmers down there.

But we have also got people in Victoria still helping out with the dairy crisis down there. People in Queensland dealing with the drought, it’s just nonstop and it’s so full-on and it’s so demanding and it is taking its toll.
