Helping our Aussie farmers
Like millions of Aussies right now, many of our Aussie farmers are struggling with challenges.
Inflation and costs are soaring, widespread economic uncertainty and staffing challenges abound, and biosecurity risks, long-term climate forecasts and catastrophic weather events continue to pound them.
Australia is now on an El Nino alert, and as the months roll on, the likelihood of hotter drier conditions returning increases the inevitability of droughts and bushfires. Farmers endured similar conditions in the early 1980s, 1990s and the 2000s, where macro-economic conditions collided with mother nature resulting in catastrophic consequences.
The drought and economy’s impact on our nation’s food security could see many Australian families—already struggling with the cost of living—pay even higher prices for their groceries. And the brutal truth is that some, including farmers, will go without.
