What we are doing in the face of COVID-19
Since 2002, Aussie Helpers has supported Australian farmers and families doing it tough on the land through droughts, fires and floods.
We’re no strangers to a crisis.
And although the current COVID-19 crisis has thrown us all some unique challenges, we’re doing everything we can to be a source of comfort and support to our farmers during this difficult time.
So, what does that look like?
Regrettably, for the safety of our farmers, their families, our team – and every Australian – we are not doing face to face home visits at this time.
However, that does not mean we’ve stopped helping those who need it most. We’re just taking some extra precautions.
As more people enter isolation either by choice or law, we remain committed to delivering household essentials and vouchers to farming families in need. Care and food packages will simply be dropped at your gate, or at a safe distance from your front door, and vouchers posted in the mail.
Still need a friendly ear?
We’re still here!
Aussie Helpers understands that life on the land can be isolating at the best of times, let alone during the current crisis. COVID-19 has made life even harder for a lot of people.
Our telephone support service is still operating, and we urge anyone who is dealing with feelings of isolation or despair not to suffer in silence. Please call us on 1300 665 232 today and ask for help. All details will be kept in confidence.
Want to help?
Everyone is doing it tough in some way right now, and we understand the community doesn’t have a lot to spare, but every little bit counts.
If you would like to help an Aussie farming family in need, please head to our ‘Donate’ page and show your support.
